Product Development Lead

Solhyd has developed a technology that turns sunlight and water from the air into hydrogen gas. The idea is simple: produce green hydrogen anywhere on the planet, to replace fossil fuels. Discover more about our innovative technology at solhyd.eu. 

We are looking for a committed Product Development Lead who will guide the development of the next generations of Solhyd technology.               

What does this mean concretely 

• You guide the product development process. 

  • You translate company strategy into clear development priorities and concrete milestones. 

  • You balance innovation, performance improvement, reliability, and cost targets. 

  • You align R&D efforts with industrialization and market needs. 

• You coordinate and strengthen the product development team. 

  • You coordinate the work of product developers and research engineers. 

  • You create structure, planning and clarity in a dynamic startup environment. 

  • You coach team members to elevate technical standards and ways of working. 

• You guide technical product development. 

  • You oversee mechanical, electrical and system-level design choices. 

  • You safeguard design quality, robustness and compliance. 

  • You drive design reviews, risk analyses and validation strategies. 

  • You guide design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly decisions. 

• You co-develop the product together with the team.

  • You perform hands-on work, such as carrying out test protocols or design tasks 

  • You use field data and testing results to refine product specifications. 

  • You ensure lessons learned translate into structural product improvements. 

  • You support certification and regulatory processes where required. 

  • You work closely with your colleagues in a collaborative environment and report directly to the CTO.  

Who you are 

• You hold a master’s degree in engineering or equivalent through experience.

• You have experience in product development.

• You have experience in project management or leading teams.

• Experience with electrolysis in an industrial context is a plus.

• Experience with hard- or software development is a plus.

• Certification in product development methodologies is a plus (e.g. six sigma, ISO, lean development, cradle to cradle) 

• You would like to work on an innovative and ambitious project that makes a sustainable contribution to the world.

• You are practical and flexible enough to work on a range of different tasks. You love a dynamic startup environment which is constantly evolving.

• You communicate fluently in Dutch and English (oral and written).
