What does this mean concretely 

You work on the very core of Solhyd technology. You help us to gain deeper insights into the system and investigate new approaches and materials to improve its performance. 

  • You are part of Solhyd’s research team with a responsibility in electrochemistry. You collaborate closely with colleagues working on material level and you bring systems-level insight that ties all components together.  

    • Based on rigorous data analysis, you plan and follow up experiments with members of the team. 

    • You report your conclusions in a systematic and scientific manner. 

    • You keep track of the latest developments in research and industrial development concerning hydrogen technologies, electrochemical methods, catalysts, electrolyzers and other associated technologies. 

    • You translate insights from research to product development, production, and quality control. 

  • You perform experiments and analyse data. 

    • You perform electrochemical experiments on the core components of Solhyd technology (electrodes, MEA and cell assembly). 

    • You develop and apply detailed testing protocols for short- and long-term performance. 

    • You setup and perform accelerated lifetime testing. You identify failure modes and investigate appropriate solutions. 

    • You deconvolute the different contributions of the performance in a precise and quantified manner.

You work in a team in which you are supported by your colleagues, and you report to the CTO. 

Who you are 

  • You hold a master’s degree or a PhD in electrochemistry, materials science, applied physics, chemical engineering or equivalent.  

  • You have experience with electrochemical techniques directly applied to electrolysis or other hydrogen technologies.

  • Experience with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) is a strong plus.

  • You have experience with R&D in a industrial environment. 

  • You are familiar with common analytic methods and electrochemical instruments.   

  • You are practical and flexible enough to work on a range of different tasks. You love a dynamic startup environment which is constantly evolving. 

  • You recognize yourself in the Solhyd values. 

  • You communicate fluently in English (oral and written) and preferably in Dutch as well (level B2 or higher).
